Ceramic ring packing (ceramic bulk packing) has excellent acid and heat resistance, and can withstand corrosion from various acids and alkalis except for fluoroacids. Ceramic fillers can be used for the lining of washing towers, cooling towers, recovery and regeneration towers, desulfurization towers, drying towers, absorption towers, and reactors in industries such as chemical, metallurgical, acid production, coal gas, oxygen production, steel, pharmaceuticals, and fine chemicals. Ceramic bulk packing includes more than forty types of ceramic rings, including three Y-rings, Raschig rings, cross partition rings, Bauer rings, rectangular saddle rings, cross saddle rings, stepped rings, flat rings, etc.
Ceramic step rings increase the gaps between packing particles, reduce the resistance of gas passing through the packing layer, and these contact points can also serve as gathering and dispersing points for liquid flow along the packing surface, thereby promoting surface renewal of the liquid film and improving the mass transfer efficiency of the packing.
Ceramic intalox rings are processed using continuous extrusion technology, which has the advantages of high flux, reduced pressure, and high efficiency. The saddle ring packing bed has a large porosity, and the bed is mostly composed of circular arc-shaped liquid channels, which reduces the resistance of gas passing through the bed and also reduces the radial diffusion coefficient when the liquid flows downward.
Ceramic cross ring packing is only suitable for neat stacking and is generally only used as a tower bottom support distribution layer for disorderly stacking packing. Cross partition rings with a specification of Ø 80-150mm can be used as supporting materials, with a void ratio greater than 60% and a number of aggregates.
Ceramic raschig ring packing is one of the earliest developed bulk packing materials. The shape of ceramic Raschig ring filler is simple, and its height is equal to the diameter size. Large sized Raschig rings (over 100MM) are generally filled in a neat manner, while Raschig rings smaller than 75mm are generally filled in a disorderly manner.
Ceramic saddle ring packing is a new type of packing that is improved on the basis of rectangular saddle ring packing. It has the characteristics of pressure reduction and high mass transfer efficiency, and is widely used in sulfuric acid drying towers and other tower equipment.
